On April 8th 2014,
Microsoft will officially end all support for Windows XP and will stop
producing technical and security updates for the aging operating system.
For those of you with XP machines still in use, we urge you to consider
upgrading as a matter of urgency. Once support has ended, PCs running XP will
be increasingly vulnerable to virus and spyware infections, with Microsoft
warning users that any zero-day exploits will not be patched.
In addition to the security concerns, Microsoft has also warned that XP users
will see a steady decline in performance, as Microsoft will no longer be
producing technical patches to keep systems and software running correctly.
